We got the official word yesterday that we’ll be flying out sometime between October 18th to October 20th. Since Ross had originally told us to be ready to fly out by the 12th, a lot of us started packing or gathering our things already. Amazon Prime has been my best friend so far. Well, apparently my medical school education courses will continue on a cruise liner! Not the most ideal situation but given our circumstances, there’s not much else available for us. I talked to one of my close friends from school and we reflected back on our year so far and we’ve basically had a pretty shitty year. From repeating first semester, breaking up with our significant other, dealing with Maria, losing weeks of school, and now being educated on a cruise liner. But we have to stay positive right?

Dominica is a gorgeous little island. Although the Ross community was evacuated, the locals are left to rebuild their homes. These people welcomed all of us with open arms and are some of the kindest people I’ve met. They have such big hearts. It is my hope to help them rebuild their community.
